Our therapists utilize interventions from research proven theories including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Counseling, Existential Counseling, Narrative and Collaborative approaches, Feminist Theory, and Multicultural Counseling. 

 

Having a research proven approach helps individuals reach their highest level of functioning by clinically treating your mental health symptoms causing you distress. We help clients development solid social, communication and self care skills. As well as the cultivation of time management, organizational skills, and parental training. We also help individuals manage their behaviors in various settings that impact their lives; inclusive of self-esteem building, setting life goals and problem resolution.

Personality Disorders

A personality disorder is a type of mental disorder in which you have a rigid and unhealthy pattern of thinking, functioning and behaving. A person with a personality disorder has trouble perceiving and relating to situations and people. This causes significant problems and limitations in relationships, social activities, work and school.

Mood Disorders

If you have a mood disorder, your general emotional state or mood is inconsistent with your situations and interferes with your ability to function. You may be extremely sad, empty or irritable, or you may have periods of depression alternating with being excessively happy.

Emotional Dysregulation

A poor ability to manage emotional responses or to keep them within an acceptable range of typical emotional reactions. This can mean the inability to control sadness, anger, irritability, and frustration.

Anxiety Disorders

These feelings of anxiety and panic interfere with daily activities, are difficult to control, are out of proportion to the actual danger and can last a long time. You may avoid places or situations to prevent these feelings. Symptoms may start during childhood or the teen years and continue into adulthood.

Examples of anxiety disorders include generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), specific phobias and separation anxiety disorder. You can have more than one anxiety disorder. Sometimes anxiety results from a medical condition that needs treatment.

Relationship Difficulties

When people form relationship from different backgrounds, family, and relationship history, beliefs, and habits they come together to create a couple or a family, issues and conflict are likely to develop. You will be able to work through many conflicts and gain the necessary skills and insight into your relationship.
